Itinerary

Begin your adventure on a tour of vibrant Medellín known as the City of Eternal Spring, and visit artistic Comuna 13. Next, jet over to Cartagena and enjoy a panoramic tour of key neighborhoods BocagrandeCastillogrande and Manga. Take a delightful boat trip to the Islas del Rosario for a relaxing beach day out. Finally, be led through the colorful alleys of Getsemaní.

1st Day: Medellin

You have chosen the trip that does not include flights to the destination. Upon arrival, you must go to the assigned hotel for the first day of the trip so you can join the group, and tomorrow you’ll begin the planned itinerary. In the event that you have a day at your leisure and have not booked any optional activities, you will be able to explore and enjoy the destination independently.

2nd Day: Medellin

Breakfast at the hotel. Get to know this colorful city today as you set off on a morning tour of Medellin. Begin at the Casa Museo de la Memoria* to learn about the city’s turbulent history.

Take a cable car to the neighborhood of La Sierra, an up-and-coming part of town where you can uncover the essence of modern Medellin in Comuna 13, with its vibrant street art and community atmosphere.

The remainder of the day is free to enjoy at your leisure to continue exploring this exciting city. Why not explore Colombia’s rich artistic heritage at the Antioquia Museum or take a stroll through Plaza Botero, where you have to try the well-known ‘buñuelos’. Overnight stay in Medellin.

3rd Day: Medellin

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a day at your leisure in Medellin, known as the ‘City of Eternal Spring’ because of its year-round warm tropical climate.

Why not wander around the tranquil Botanical Gardens or simply people-watch in one of the city’s sunny plazas. To get a well-rounded experience, we recommend an excursion to Peñol and Guatapé*. Overnight stay in Medellin.

*Optional full-day excursion to Peñol and Guatapé: explore the quaint town of Peñol, known for its impressive, energy-producing reservoir. Discover the Piedra dell Peñol and climb 724 steps to reach the peak for unforgettable panoramic views! Enjoy lunch before visiting the town of Guatapé to appreciate its picturesque houses and take a leisurely boat trip on the reservoir.

4th Day: Medellin – Cartagena de Indias

Breakfast at the hotel. Ready for the next part of your adventure? Transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Cartagena de Indias! Experience the colorful Caribbean culture in this city that sits on the Caribbean coast, one of the main ports in Colombia.

Depending on your arrival time, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure and begin exploring this vibrant city. Overnight stay in Cartagena de Indias.

5th Day: Cartagena de Indias

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, why not start the day with an optional cooking class* to dive right into the rich flavors and cultural heritage of Colombian cuisine. Create memories and master the recipes that capture the essence of Cartagena de Indias’ gastronomic charm.

At the indicated time, set off on an exciting journey to discover this colonial city on a Chiva: a colorful open-top bus, covered in festive decorations and vibrant art! Enjoy a panoramic tour through its most emblematic neighborhoods and learn all about Bocagrande, Castillogrande and Manga.

Next, enter the Castle of San Felipe, one of the most important military feats of engineering of the colonial times. Finally, end your tour at the Monumento de Los Zapatos Viejos with a stop at the letters of Cartagena de Indias. The rest of the day is yours to continue discovering this vibrant city. Overnight stay in Cartagena de Indias.

6th Day: Cartagena de Indias

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, set off on an enchanting boat trip to the Rosario islands, in the middle of the turquoise Caribbean ocean. This archipelago, located off the coast of Cartagena, offers pristine beaches, coral reefs, and crystal-clear waters.

Self-transfer to the port to catch your speed boat over to the Rosario Islands National Park. The journey to the Rosario Islands provides a scenic boat ride through the Caribbean Sea. During the journey appreciate the beautiful Bay of Cartagena and Boca Chica, where the San Fernando and San José forts are located.

After your arrival, spend the day enjoying the beach, soaking up the sunshine, swimming and snorkeling in the wonderfully mild waters. Enjoy a delicious seafood lunch (included), freshly caught and prepared by locals.

This experience allows you to savor the flavors of the region while surrounded by the natural beauty of the Caribbean. Transfer back to Cartagena at the indicated time. Overnight stay in Cartagena.

7th Day: Cartagena de Indias

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, you have the wonderful opportunity to unleash your creativity and make a meaningful impact at our optional coconut souvenir workshop*, where some of the proceeds go towards a local, female-led organization.

Later in the morning, set off on a guided tour of Getsemaní neighborhood. An area that is a true mix of traditional and modern, and art and culture. Huge art installations and stunning graffitis adorn the streets, and a real alternative vibe dances in the air. Visit the Plaza de La Trinidad, an important location, where independence was conceived on November 11, 1811.

Enjoy a guided walking tour through its streets and alleys to behold the stunning murals. See the art created by locals that tells the story of tradition and the past. In addition to this, you will live a total immersive experience of popular life in the Getsemaní neighborhood. Overnight stay in Cartagena de Indias.

Breakfast at the hotel*. It’s time to bring this unforgettable adventure to a close. You have chosen the trip without the flights back to your country of origin, so you must transfer to the airport on your own according to your scheduled time of departure.

*The included breakfast on the last day will depend on the time of your return flight and the hotel’s breakfast service.
