Itinerary
Explore the vivid culture of Cartagena de Indias, from the colorful facades of the colonial buildings in the walled city to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean ocean. Learn the history of the city while you immerse yourself in the local culture.
1st Day: Cartagena de Indias
You have chosen the trip that does not include flights to the destination. Upon arrival, you must go to the assigned hotel for the first day of the trip so you can join the group, and tomorrow you’ll begin the planned itinerary. In the event that you have a day at your leisure and have not booked any optional activities, you will be able to explore and enjoy the destination independently.
2nd Day: Cartagena
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy your morning at leisure in this colorful city. In the afternoon, get to know the colonial past and colourful present of the city. Start with a panoramic tour of the main neighborhoods of the city: Bocagrande, Castillogrande and Manga.
Following this, enter the Castillo de San Felipe where you will encounter one of the most important military engineering constructions in colonial times. Next, visit the emblematic Church of San Pedro Claver that dates back to the 1600s.
End of the tour with a walk through the stunning colonial walled city where you can admire its beautiful squares, narrow streets and houses with their balconies magnificently decorated with flowers. Overnight stay in Cartagena.
3rd Day: Cartagena
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you have the day at your leisure. It’s a vibrant city with a plethora of quirky bars and eateries, colorful streets and leafy plazas, perfect for exploring!
We recommend our optional tour* of the stunning Rosario islands in the middle of the turquoise Caribbean ocean. Overnight stay in Cartagena.
*Optional full-day Islas del Rosario tour (with lunch): self-transfer to the port to catch your speed boat over to the Rosario Islands National Park. On-route, appreciate the beautiful Bay of Cartagena and Boca Chica, where the San Fernando and San José forts are located. Arrive, enjoy the beach, soak in the sunshine, have a swim in the wonderful waters and then savor a typical lunch (included). Transfer back to Cartagena at the indicated time.
4th Day: Cartagena
Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day at your leisure in the vibrant Caribbean city. Perhaps you’ll head down to the beach for a lazy afternoon, enjoy a Colombian coffee in one of the lively plazas.
Why not explore the vibrant Getsemaní neighborhood, known for its street art, trendy cafes, and lively atmosphere. Take a leisurely walk through the streets, and maybe pick up some souvenirs. Overnight stay in Cartagena.
5th Day: Cartagena
Breakfast at the hotel*. It’s time to bring this unforgettable adventure with Exoticca to a close. You have chosen the trip without the flights back to your country of origin, so you must transfer to the airport on your own according to your scheduled time of departure.
*The included breakfast on the last day will depend on the time of your return flight and the hotel’s breakfast service.
